Heavy rains...

on the way. Probably starting later on Wednesday into Wednesday night. These summer deluges are tricky so we'll just have to follow the radar tomorrow to see who gets in on the real heavy stuff. But it will be more than just the usual scatt'd t-storms this time.

Hey, hey Bryan was wondering where youve been. This info is appreciated but do you know when the rains will come? Thanks

One model has it hitting us during the afternoon, another holds it off until late afternoon/evening. Either way it's showing a wide area of 2-3+ inch rains! That's just what the models are showing anyway.

I want to be a weather forecaster. Any suggestions Bryan?

Hurricane - there are 2 routes i would suggest. You can either learn as much as you can online (which is what i do) and post on forums, etc. Or you can go to school for it. Or you can do both.

Bill Evans usually teaches a 6 week night course that sounds good to me. Not sure when the next one will be. Maybe in the fall. You can post on his board to find out:
http://forums.abclocal.go.com/n/pfx/forum.as...ag=wabc_weather

For some good forums do a google on these:
nyc metro weather
tri state weather
eastern weather

The first one tends to be more friendly. The other 2 i would suggest for reading not so much for posting, at least until you learn what you are talking about.

Some good meteorology programs include Rutgers, Bloomsburg, Lyndon State, Millersville, Penn State, Miami, Cornell, and some of the SUNY campuses.

There's a chance of a t-storm tonight. I wouldn't really bet on it though.

For a weather forecast that is very accurate and no-frills, try www.noaa.gov.

It's basically the weather that pilots check before they take a flight, so you can be sure that it's accurate! I stopped using the Weather Channel site because I felt like it was full of unnecessary warning messages, huge advertisements, and annoying extra features.

We're off to an early start. That warm front really raced north last night. On and off heavy rain will continue probably through tonight.

Jan - were you the child that was always picked on in school? It seems like it, because you tend to have the impulse to correct everyone by trying to dazzle them with your "intellect".

Give it a rest and stop being such a wind-bag.

Well the brunt of the rain is over. I'm still worried about that low swirling over north-central PA. That could trigger a few showers or t-storms this afternoon. Most forecasts seem to put us in the clear for tonight though with a very nice day on tap for tomorrow.

John just don't bring any stink bugs on that ark!
