Any recommendations on dog boarding facilities near H'town.

I'm going on vacation in August and can't bring my pup. She is very active; walks about 3-5 miles a day and has supervised full energy playtime for 1-2 hrs in my fencedin yard, and she LOVES her sleep. My motto "a tired pup is a good pup" lol.
I need to find a place where she won't go bonkers, not getting the exercise she needs. Unfortnately I have not had her play with other dogs off leash yet. I have only had her for 2 months and am working on her training. She generally is an easy keeper~'cept for needing the activity.
Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

We usually use a pet sitter when we go away. Kirsten from Carriage House is wonderful!

We had our dogs stay at Happy Tails Inn for one night when we moved. It was the first time they were boarded. They appeared to be fine. They didn't seem too nervous or upset when we picked them up. The facility is clean and nice. If your dog has not been around other dogs she may be upset by the barking. Also, if you board her she will need to be given a special shot (I think 2 weeks before you board) by your vet. Good luck, it is always hard to leave them!!!

Unfortunately your pup will not receive her 3-5 miles a day at a boarding facility. Please see my ad in the classifieds under "Hip Pup Pet Services." I know I know...shameless plug : ) I can send you a starter kit if you wish...just send me a message at HipPupPetServices@gmail.com.

The best place is in Phillpsburg called Homer Dodge Farm.

Here's the website. Ask for George.

Luckygirl- I live right in town and I walk every night and would be more then happy to talk to you about helping out while your away. I probably walk about 3 not so much 5 but if I had a pooch with me maybe I could do further. I have watched many peoples pets while away

Happy Tails is a good place for your dog if you want to board. We have two active dogs, and one of them doesn't get along with other dogs. When we pick them up they're pretty happy and not as stressed as other places.

Our favorite place to board our two dogs is the Woof n' Purr in Flanders. It isn't far and the owners are awesome. They really love dogs/animals. Our dog who always hated staying anywhere but at home is just fine there - HAPPY even! They have indoor/outdoor runs of their own.

Their info is here - http://www.woofandpurrinn.com/index.html
