I think this is pure evidence of a wild party. But then we would have to say that cats have wild parties every night.. But hey, don't they?

What a cutie...

Re: Wild Party in Hackettstown Home While Parents At Cooper Mill Civil War EventFolks,

I was fortunate enough to attend the Living History Timeline this past weekend at Cooper Mill in Chester, NJ.

Here's a slide show of photos I took over two days. It is a Flash file that should open right in your internet browser window.

Enjoy!

That's funny John!

We had a great time (my husband, our son and daughter and myself) though my son was hot and tired and was doing a bit of "I'm hot at tired and wanna go home now!" at each stop we made...

we did learn a few things though and it was our first visit to "living history" and him seeing people (and it was great to see kids participating!) dressing and going about life long ago.

Hope it had some impact on him in some way (other than "wow! those guns are cool!")

Nick -- Your pictures are beautiful and the music is perfect. What is the source of that particular piece?

Thanks for all the great feedback about the photos - I really enjoy being out there & especially getting a change to talk to the re-enactors. As a sometime U.S. History teacher (I'm a full-time Computer Technology teacher), the information & stories I've heard from these folks is amazing. Get out to a Living History event whenever you can.

cbel - The wonderful music is by Kevin MacLeod & is available free-of-charge via his website (with certain limitations). For my project, all I had to do was give him written credit.
If you look at the slideshow viewer, on the right -hand side, there is the word "credits". Click on it & you'll see my name & his.

Here's the direct link to Kevin's website: http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/

Enjoy!

No offense, Non-Dairy Queen, but something about a dog wearing a tiara kind of weirds me out :) How do you get it to stay on?

I think my beauty queen uses a lot of hair gel and a few bobby pins ;)

Just kidding, but to be honest, this is a DOGGIE TIARA! It is attached to a small hairclip made for lil pooches. What a market the pet business has become, huh?

Even funnier is that before my princess arrived from Florida, my co-worker's threw me a suprise "Puppy Shower" at work! The gifts were incredible including the necessities: shampoo, a book and toys; and then there were tons of impractical things such as: adorable clothing, a faux fur stole.....and 4 itty-bitty leg warmers! It gave me the best chuckle of my life!
