H-Lifers Part 2 - What town do you live in?
I'll start. Mansfield (Village) ... and, no it's not the slums. My area is really very nice.
Hardwick Twp (but usually refer to it as Blairstown, as we share a zip code, and most people have never heard of it anyway...)
Hi, looking at a house on Liberty St in Hackettstown. Any information on that area that might be helpful to me, would be great.
Technically independence township but I'm so close to the border. From south jersey near the Delaware
I live in a Mystical Place , that is surrounded on three sides by beautiful Mountains , that in the fall is so alive with color , winters the snow did cover like a blanket , spring time as the world turns green life returns , Summer there are cool nights hot days but the sun shines in and warms our heart , the waters of the lake are reflections of our life and to see the morning still waters as the mist burns off and ducks work there way across leaveing there wake it is a sigtht . the lake has a magical power and oly some can feel it if you open your mind and soul to it , we here are only a small part of our area , we have flat plains , magical mountains swift streams and much much more .
I have lived here for 53 years I have seen the changes from dirt roads and summer cabins and the loss of the same .
I live in Liberty Township but the area of the town ship is called Mt,Lake
Caged, what a beautiful description of Mt. Lake..I especiallby like the vision of the mist burning off the water and the ducks....I live in Independence twsp. And overlook a vally...and the hills. I love to watch the weather come across the hills..we can watch the rain or snow as it works across the hills, the valley and finally it is upon us...The sunsets are spectacular. We had moved away from this particular area and built another house on Hope Rd., we were only there a year because I missed the view from this road...we were fortunate in that a piece of property was available, enabling us to put up a house again on the very road we had moved from....location, location, location. Have lived on this road 40 yrs.
Mt.Lake- if only The Lodge was opened again, there could be a Hackettstown Life get together for Mt.Lake people here. Of course, we know that building wont be opening again anytime soon-
Knowtontownship on the river. Caged I know how you feel about where you live. I feel the same about the river. We had 9 swans stay for winter many animals. Deer swim river so beautiful. Spring can be a challenge
Grew up in Hackettstown, family homestead until few years ago; have been in Philadelphia since 1980. Work keeps me here, but I miss the town and area and the people.
Schooley's Mt. Washington Township, Morris County
Had a lot of good times at the Lodge and the Casino, it's too bad what happened to them. The Lodge would have been a nice place for meetings. I always thought it would make a great house. Screen in the deck and you could sit out there and look out over the water and just get lost in it. OH WELL
I lived in Beattystown from 1969 - 1979. I now live in Holland Township, Hunterdon county.
Oh no! I'll throw the graph! I live in Gilbert, Arizona, but am a H-Towner in my heart!
Am I the only Oxfordian? Or would that be Oxfordite? Where's Vic? I believe he is from Oxford.
I lived in Allamuchy and Independence before moving to Oxford.
Calico: Oxfordian sounds a little better. Oxfordite sounds like something that would be dug from the ground in PA or WV.
