New weight watchers

Is the new weightwatchers worth the money? Should I pay per week or get a monthly pass? What meeting and/or leader do you recommend?

You mean the program is all new?

The program is similar to the old program with some added flexibility built in and some of the points values of items have changed.

If money is a concern and you have the books from the old program, you can still follow the old program to success. You will not have the meeting support system, but it is a solid program.

If you get the monthly pass, this gives you full access to e-tools which is very helpful for tracking and new ideas / menus.

I personally find the program worth the monthly pass, cost and I love the apps that are out there to support it.

Have you looked into doing the program on line?

There is a meeting on Friday morning at the Trinity Church. I would suggest not doing the monthly pass- I did not use the tools that were on the website enough to warrant it- PLUS if you pay out of pocket it helps keep you on track verses it automatically being charged to your credit card. You can always change it!? I now stick to the plan and go once a month to the meetings- seems to work I am down 25 pounds and not breaking the bank! Good Luck

I have been attending Friday mornings as well..LuckMomof2...and being this was the first time I ever attended a structured weight loss program.. did not know there was a different weight loss system used by Weight Watchers. All I know is it is working for me...4 weeks and have lost almost 10 pounds. In my particular instance I think the fact that I have to account to someone other than myself each week by weighing in is why this will be successful for me.

I put my first four weeks on my charge card at my first meeting...This week I would like to pay cash week to week...Can I do that?? Also, what would the cost be per week?

LuckMomof2: If you pay out of pocket when attending a meeting, and only go to the meeting once a month, don't you still have to pay for the weeks that you didn't attend. I always thought it was cheaper online. When I used to go to WW, it was $40/month for authomatic charge on credit card or $13.00 weekly. Did that change?

Is the Friday 10 am meeting popular? I'm rejoining after a long hiatus. I used to go to Roxbury because they had more options. But I think I want to go local this time with the hopes of getting to know some people and having more accountability.

Tweety, unless she is a Lifetime member she will have to pay for those other weeks, yes. So I'm not sure I see the point of that...

I did the meetings for 3 months and now that I have the hang of it went strictly online. I do have a face book group with 25 members who share w.w. tips tricks success failures etc its just like going to meetings but its at your finger tips 24/7 if anyone wants to join let me know and I will need to add you as a friend to add you to the group as it is a secret group but can delete you after so you dont have to see all my random posts lol

Njchia..I go to the Friday meetings at Trinity Church. My girlfriend (who has done WWers before) said this is the best group of people she has ever had at the meetings. Our instructor Diane is really good too and keeps the interest. I never did a structured weight loss program before and so far so good..started Jan. 9th and so far have lost 13 pounds and don't feel hungry at all.

I still swear by MFP app... it is free and fabulous. I will never leave home without it :) Under my goal of 140 and happy!

love WW , it really works if you track and are working the plan. i lost 75 pounds since i joined 11/10. i am at my goal weight since 11/11, so now everything is free ....woohoo, i dont think i was ever hungry, and nothing is off limits, you just have to track it. its an extremely flexible plan, and very easy to just make into a lifestyle of eating smart, and right . diane is a great WW leader, meetings with her are always fun and informative, and everyone adds to the discussion. have met a lot of very nice people and still enjoy going to the meetings, even though i only have to go once a month to wiegh in, as long as i stay at or within 2 pounds of my goal, i get a voucher for 2 more months of free etools. i love the online tools too, and use them all the time to track, look up recipes, or tweak my own to make them more plan friendly. highly recomend this program. good luck to all in whatever you choose or works for you.

Nonny: Do you go Friday mornings? I joined Jan 9th and hope this week I have lost my 15 pounds...was 14 last week. Diane is really good!
