More organizing advice (2012)

Ok, so last year we had an organizing advice thread...here's the link so no one has to look for it and post it. I'm more interested in knowing if anything worked for them last year, have you bought a new product, found a method that really worked. It can carry over to any organizational problems you've solved ..I have them all, kitchen, closets, drawers, you name it, I'm not very organized. Hoping to get some hints from those that are more organized than me.

I stick with my suggestions from last year....We got our attic done right before Christmas and that felt sooo good.

I bought a jewelry organizer and have it hanging on a over the door hook on my bdrom door.
A hanging shoe organizer on the bathroom door is GREAT for holding all your bathroom stuff!

I love hooks in closets and ( as mentioned above) and the over the door hooks. I have one on the inside of every door.

I am big on neatness - can't stand the clutter.

The challenge is maintaining the neatness. Keep it simple and you are more likely to maintain it.

Let's talk at breakfast tomorrow.

Okay I have a new one regarding the kitchen area and Tupperware chaos. I read that you need to really decide what shape you want to store things in and only buy that shape. I have decided on square as my shape because it just stacks better in my opinion. I have also decided to only buy glass storage containers with lids. I can freeze, cook, and reheat with glass. I cannot do all three with plastic. I think that the only exception to my new kitchen storage rule is going to be disposable rubbermaid things for my daughters snacks. I need small and unbreakable so for her I have selected glad round containers as they seem to be toddler friendly and so small anyway. I went through a lot of my Tupperware stuff a few weeks ago and just chucked a bunch of stuff that had missing lids, warped, was hardly ever used due to the overwhelming amount of stuff if the cabinet. So my rule going forward is square, glass, must be able to freeze and cook with.I think it is logical and ultimately functional.
