I was told to never take this if you have a blood clotting disorder.

Best thing for memory is to read, play games, do crosswords, etc.

I've been taking it since the early 90's. I lived in France, where it is taken by students to help with memory/studying for tests, and also many French women take it for circulation (it helps lower leg circulation specifically, and they swear by it to keep legs thin in the heat of Summer. If you've been to France and seen their legs, you'll start taking it too!). I personally love the stuff. It is a blood thinner, and should not be taken if you have any type of blood clotting disease, but that's pretty rare, I think. Also, if you are having any surgery, you must stop Ginkgo a few weeks prior.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, I am a dog photographer! Please therefore give my opinion the appropriate weight.

Thanks Rebecka

My husband takes the medicine Cumadin (blood thinner) and was told by his Dr. not to take Ginkgo Biloba

Probably because he already takes a blood thinner and GB is one also.

It is also very dangerous to take and all of a sudden you need emergency surgery. Stuff is a little dangerous.

Before taking anything, you should always check with your doctor. But I have a friend who swears by Ginkgo Biloba. She is an avid reader, usually reading 3 or 4 different books at the same time. Several years ago, she noticed that she couldn't remember what she read and she started taking Ginkgo Biloba and everything cleared up for her in a very short time. She still takes it every day and has had no adverse reactions to it.

I like singing this to "Copacabana." I take, Ginkgo Ginkgo Biloba!"
