Hammy!!

Hammy it seems your human owner takes you on many trips around the world. You look a little lonely at times. Perhaps you can use a friend or a good book to read. I have recently gotten in a couple of books and friends that are in the same species as you. I suppose I should tell your owner to visit my store so she could possibly purchase them so you have someone to mingle with on your lonely down times. You can tell her I told you so!

Hi and thank you for writing me!

My name is Hammy. Nobody owns me but I choose to live with Dolly. She is pretty good -- for a human. She does take me to lots of places and when her dog (Newman - ugh) chewed my eye, she had a surgeon fix it!

I actually prefer humans to other hamsters, they are so, I don't know -- they like to move but never seem to go anywhere, you know what I mean? And Dolly does take me lots of interesting places and we fly first class a lot because she has so many frequent flier miles. Have you been in coach? It isn't fit for a hamster.

I will ask Dolly to bring me to your shop. Who knows -- maybe you have a nice Coach bag just the right size for me!

Tigger is so beautiful!!!! My cat Dovey does that on my laptop, too. He likes the heat from the computer. And, if I am typing on it and he wants my attention, he will just plop down right on my hands as I'm typing! He's too funny!

That's exactly it SusieQ - I leave the laptop on in the morning and go take a shower after a morning walk. While I'm gone he knows he won't get pushed off it, so he jumps up and soaks up all the warmth. More than once he ends up hitting the power button and off it goes.....

He won't go right down on my hands though - he doesn't like being on top of people. He always sits *next* to me, never *on* me. Besides the laptop is generally sitting on a place where he knows he's not supposed to be. So he knows enough he has to sneek in when I'm not looking.....

He also likes the warmth of the dryer, but if I'm not careful here, this is going to turn into another "there's too many cat pictures here". ;-)

That's a pretty funny video calico -- but Hammy says only a desperate hamster would resort to such parlor tricks. He spent his day exploring the balmy waters of Florida.

Bessie Hammy is a - a hammy. I don't think he has a gender but I usually refer to him as a he -- he hasn't corrected me so let's go with that.

Yes, its Arnold Multi-Grain, Bought it 1/2 price this past week at shoprite,unlike Dolly, who must be loaded ?some of us do have to bargain shop.

Hammy and Howdy just got back from a whirlwind trip consisting of 4 days in Minnesota and a week in Denver. They are exhausted but promise to post photos soon!

Would Hammy and Howdy be interested in a trip to the outer banks in July? I am VERY responsible and I know they would have a good time. Would MOM be willing to let them go? I can pick them up and drop them off. The trip wouldn't cost them anything. Everything is on me! ha ha

Well those are most attractive offers but the hamster goes where I go. I don't sleep and I don't fly without the Hammy nearby.

However, Howdy says he's come a long way without me and although he's become quite attached during the past month or so he would be willing to try travelling alone.

Hammy and Howdy have been discussing vacation plans. Hammy will be in Florida July 19-25, then he'll be attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver 8/25-8/29 (but sadly no, not as a delegate, just an honored guest -- he isn't a citizen and although he has been to the polls cannot vote), and then onto Sedona and Las Vegas until 9/8.

Howdy agrees to keep his options open in case anyone wants a travel companion.

Howdy is welcome to come all by his own little self! Should we schedule a supervised visit to see if the little guy would be comfortable going away with me? We are leaving sometime 7/25 so I need to pick the little guy up before then. If you need references let me know. I know Bessie will vouch for me, if you know her. This is exciting! A couple of photos???!! My hobby is photos so you will have more than your fair share of photos of Howdy and all of the fun he is having! I may have to buy a new compact flash card just to cover all of the photos of Howdy. LOL! Hammy is going to be soooooooooooooo jealous!!! I can pick Howdy up if you like. Let me know. WOW! an extra week with Howdy. Maybe I can take him to work and introduce him to my cubby. LOL! I will keep him very busy and can give you my cell number if you need to talk to him while he is away.
