no! the stores have halloween candy set out and the dollar store has that and thanksgiving stuff set out.

fall is my favorite season of the year and October is my absolute favorite month.

in my view Halloween should be a national holiday and we should all get the day off of work.

so go ahead and decorate.

Nosila: I'm going to find all my wonderful Fall stuff and start decorating tomorrow. It's my favorite time of year, too.

Anyone want to start celebrating Fall early at the Legion on Sunday? They make some awesome pancakes!

My neighbor has all her Halloween ghosts and bats hanging from the trees! Way too early for me. There is a difference, though, between 'fall' and 'Halloween' decor. Since there are already natural leaves on the ground, I don't think it's too early for their artificial counterparts. But save Halloween for late October.

we already started. My feeling is once kids are back in school it is time to decorate for the fall. I will wait to put my halloween stuff out to closer to the end of the month but if just my regular fall stuff is out

OMG we're supposed to decorate for Fall?? I don't think it will work out too well for the new neighbors who put out a pumpkin already. It will be rotting nicely before Halloween gets here! It is 7 weeks away....

I decorate for every holiday Valentines, Easter, St. Pattys all of them..... I always loved to

Sep '10

Nosila - Are you my mom? I have to go into her garage and take down from the rafters 8 different boxes for each and every minor holiday. From Jan to Dec there's one for every month and a box load or more of crap to prove it...

Yes, I have a container for each and every holiday :)

I used to do all that over the top decorating..Loved it at the time but never ever more than 2 weeks before the holiday. I do love the autumn colors and see everyone elses decorations. I think it's a bit early. Why not wait to the official start of the season which I think it around Sept 19th or so. It's only another week. You have a new house right Nosila I can understand why you want to start early.

Moral of the story? *When* doesn't matter. How much effort and caring does. And that's a great job, I don't care who you are...

I put my fall wreath on the door and will get mums this weekend. Halloween though I wait until October.

I begin to put up my fall decorations the first weekend of Sep--it's my favorite season! Just a few things--pumpkin flag, mums, leaves. (I don't celebrate Halloween, so none of those) If the stores can have Christmas stuff up in Oct., why not?

Nosila - I *love* your decorations! I'm going to copy you somewhat, if you don't mind. Nicely done.

It's very Japanese of you to celebrate each different season. They also embrace the passing of time and changing weather this way.

i'm kinda with calico on this one,

is too early to put up St Paddy's day stuff? I mean on a planet as diverse as this one it has to be Saint Paddy's day somewhere!

i have been know to leave the withches and skulls up untill a week before Christmas. This is why we are *NOT* the envy of our neighborhood.

Paint the brick, that's what they do on HGTV. My friend at work has been telling me about her fireplace project she's doing. I think she also had red brick that she hated, so she got something at Lowes where you pick out the mantel, the new sides for it, inserts, I have no idea what she was talking about. Will try to figure that one out or I'll ask her when I see her on Monday
