2010 NFL Predictions Thread
Well, well, well....it's almost the most wonderful time of the year again :) NFL kicks off with a Thursday night game one week from tomorrow.
Thought it would be fun to do a prediction thread again like we did last year. Name your team and your win loss prediction here. I was spot on last year with my Eagles going 11-5. Feel free to predict the records of other teams as well.
Here is last year's thread for your reviewing pleasure:

2010 Philadelphia Eagles 7-9. Yes my friends, it's sure to be an off year for my beloved Birds. I was leaning 8-8 last week, but after that pitiful Kolb performance in the first quarter last Friday night, now I'm going 7-9. Just hoping that this year will be a stepping stone year and not the start of them becoming the Lions.....LOL
BTW....I have the Midgets at 8-8. Haven't had a chance to look at the Jest or Cowgirls schedules yet.
Man, you had me nervous there for a second. I have my money fantasy league scheduled to draft the Sunday before Labor Day, which is after next Thursday.
The season doesn't start until TWO weeks from tomorrow, Calico... whew, lol.
I know. I was so excited I got my weeks mixed up....LOL College starts next week :) Sorry for the error football fans.
I predict that my beloved Redskins will play and that I will be heartbroken. Unless there is a strike coming.....
NFC East winner goes 10-6 and it's a toss up between the Cowboys and Giants. No wild card team from the East.
Assuming Dallas splits the division games, Cowboys will go 10-6 or 9-7 with Titans @ Dallas as the swing game.
Losses are @Minn, @Indy, @Green Bay
DH has high hopes for his beloved Saints again this season. But he says he wouldn't care if they never won another game, last season was enough for a lifetime. After all these years, he can finally take the paper bag off his head and wear his colors proudly. His Brees jersey is ready to go two weeks from tomorrow.
I have no jerseys to wear this year :( Better make a purchase. My McNabb, Westbrook and Dawkins are all obsolete. Probably pick up a Jackson :)
Harold, I hope your Deadskins have better luck with McNabb than my team did. But I really doubt you will.
I'm coming up with 9-7 for the Jest and the Cowgirls and 11-5 for Indy. Looks like the first season since 2002 that the Ponies won't reach at least 12 wins. :(
I havent even thought about it yet! Dont think its going to be a year for the Giants though the Jets look better then them. HHmmmm have to think a lil longer!
I predict the Jets won't make the playoffs. Lost too many key players. Thomas Jones was huge for them and LT is no TJ. I also predict that Rex Ryan, true to big-mouth form, will cry like a fat baby just like he did last year when they started tanking.
Giants on paper look good and I still think they can win the division. Bradshaw looked really good (much better than Jacobs) running the ball the other night and Eli has played lights out since he signed his big contract. Defense let them down last year and it looks like it will shape up this year.
Obviously, I hope they go down faster than a hooker on the Titanic.
All right... in my preseason glow of optimism, I look at Da Stillers schedule and see them entering the bye week and the end of the Roethlisberger suspension at 3-1, with a loss at Tennessee marring victories over Atlanta and Baltimore at home and a road win over Tampa Bay.
Looking at their final 12 games, I can honestly see them winning 10, including all of their home games, with the only expected blemishes at New Orleans and at Baltimore. I'm picking road wins over the Fish, the Bungles, the Bills and the Browns... not exactly powerhouses, any of them.
A couple of home games against the Patsies and the J E T S look like they could be potential stumbling blocks, though. Say we split those two and I'll go on record with 12-4 with a first round bye in the playoffs, assuming Polamalu stays healthy and the offensive line comes together.
I am thinking Giants 10-6... Hopefully they will get in Post season depending on how defense plays and how Jacobs, Bradshaw and receivers step up to plate. Last year certainly was super for Eli (hopefully he will maintain those standards or even surpass them)
BTW calico, you might have predicted eagles going 11-5 last year, But your predictions were horrible in Postseason, I think you went 0-5, If I remember correctly ;)
newbee - I believe I was really bad in the first round of playoffs, but recovered by the second round :)
Now I've heard everything.....
“In developing this unique policy, we recognize that Troy Polamalu’s famed head of hair is truly legendary and we are proud to partner with head & shoulders to protect it,” says Jonathan Thomas of Watkins Syndicate at Lloyd’s of London.

BEG, your computer must have crapped out on you:
"... Steelers get 6 wins each..." *half of the season for a total of 12*... is what it SHOULD have read.
And yeah, the Jets will get to the Super Bowl... IF they buy a plane ticket and a seat at the game like everyone else who won't actually be PLAYING in it (-;
LOL.
Go Giants...
Im not a Jets fan, but they will get to the SuperBowl this year....even if it is buying the plane ticket....
Wow Bryan... 7-9 for giants.
I came at 10-6 for giants using
splitting games against division rivals (3 of 6).. May be they will sweep eagles, split against redskins and will be swept by cowboys..
and losses against colts, vikings and packers..
Big Ben's suspension got reduced to 4 games...good thing given the Leftwich injury. I think they have a good chance of going 1-3 to start the season.
emaxxman, Leftwich stinks and wasn't going to be the starter even if he had stayed healthy. They're much better off with Dixon starting games 1-4, especially with Flozell Adams at right guard. A statue like Lefty would have gotten himself killed back there.
The defense will carry them through the first four games. It's not like they're playing any offensive juggernauts. We win both home games and beat TB on the road. Tennessee will probably beat us in a close matchup, but we could certainly win that one as well. With Polamalu and Aaron Smith back, the defense is going to be "head and shoulders" above what they were last year.
Dixon's going to "manage" the games and there's gonna be a whole lot of Mendenhall and Ike Redman pounding the ball straight ahead. "Any drive that ends in a kick is a good drive" will be their motto. I wouldn't be surprised if Dixon has almost as many rushing attempts as passes when he's in there. He looks to cut and run as soon as his plant foot hits the ground.
