HL HH Walk and Weigh In Program

Ok everyone, stop being lazy and join in on this.... NO MORE EXCUSES! Need I remind you, I am 16 pounds down in 2 months for making better decisions.... The time is now.... not, ok maybe another day or anything else you can think of. Like NIKE says, "Just DO IT."
Spring and Summer HH WALKING BEGINS! Let's change up HH to walk a few times a week.... we don't need our beverages and unhealthy dinners I see everyone eating instead of salads.... Let's walk and enjoy an apple or two along the way.....

For anyone interested please list your name, and way of contact or email me at twoblackcats13@hotmail.com along with locations to walk.

We will walk daily and count our miles.... and only WEIGH IN once a week. Weekly weigh in's are key!!! No need for Weight Watchers and other programs, we can do this our self as a GROUP.

Please join me..... This will be a fresh start for everyone!!!

I wish you the best of luck and hope this lasts longer for your group than the one last year did. Everyone started out gung-ho and within 6 weeks (correct me if I'm wrong) it was over & done...

I'm hoping at least one person closer to my area might want to do something similar!

Might I suggest walking 'somewhere' like a shopping destination or some point of interest. When I see people power walking laps around the block, I always wonder why they dont have a destination and I feel kinda sorry for them. Its fine if your exercise is sort of a leisure activity/hobby/social thing, but it can be so much more! Bring a little shopping bag or backpack and walk to get some groceries, tour the morris canal, or go visit some friends/family. To me exercising becomes a more sustainable activity when you can integrate with daily life/errands. Know what I mean?

Yes but at the same time it is an excuse not to exercise and "power walk." :) Point is to get your heart racing.... not really leisure walking or window shop. I am open to anything but I think we should stick with Hackettstown / Flanders location..... Chester/ Mendham also have really nice hiking trails and ponds to bring dogs too...
I don't mind traveling but not more than 10-20 min for a nice hour or two walk....
I will be on vacation from work soon and open to all daily activity. When I work I will be available to walk during the evening hours and always on weekends....

Please keep posting.
Meetup.com is great place to gather members but I am not paying monthly to use their site. How should I create this group?

Anyone who wants to begin walking can sign up on this post below.
I think we should start local sometime over the weekend or next week, let's figure out dates.
Turkey Brook Park in Flanders is nice, very open and picnic benches to sit down and have a snack.
Also Randolph Park ( unsure of exact name ) beautiful park with a lovely lake/beach, track and places for kids to play.
You can bring dogs to both of these... PICK ONE and let's start walking!

What about Field of Dreams in Independence? I would be interested but don't really want to travel to walk. My friend and I did three laps around yesterday and it was 4 miles...

Off of Cemetary Rd, behind the middle school. Has a large park, walking trails, etc.

LOCAL Htown park behind Doctor's Park before you get to the hospital off Main St..... this is where we will be meeting and walking... no driving far needed.....beautiful park right here in town with a creek....Pump House runs along the side of it. Tuesday evening works for me if it is not raining...Rain date will be Wednesday this week. All are welcome!

The one thing I didn't see but was here to view..... http://www.hackettstownlife.com/forum/117101 the park is apparently called Field Of Dreams..... read this site for directions. We will plan days accordingly to weather. My goal is to walk 4 days a week. 1 to 2 hours at a decent pace if everyone can handle it.

Did everyone get together last night? The dog and I went down to the park behind Drs Park at 6 to 7 last night, but didn't see anyone else there. Is anything going on tonight?

I didn't hear from anyone so I did my own thing...this may be harder than I thought.... plus now I am going on vacation for 5 days lol maybe will be able to start something in a few weeks.... but keep it up, see who wants to join....would be fun for a nice walking group when it gets going.
