Opinions- How do you feel about this?

I came across a situation the other day, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

For example, if you had to go to the dentist and you got there and the dentist had bad teeth, would you continue to see them? Or, if you had to go to the doctor and you saw him smoking outside then coughing up a lung when he was examining you? Or, if you had to see a nutritionist and they were quite overweight?

Because of insurance purposes, I am limited to who I can see. Would you be able to take their advice seriously if they were not following it themselves? Would you continue to see them or change doctors?

I would tend not to trust in a practitioner who can't even take care of themselves. I would change docs, however I know that can be a royal PITA, so I guess it would depend... only a checkup? Who cares. Need a script for cholesterol? If the guy weighs 300 lbs, I'd get a 2nd opinion. Bad teeth on a dentist? DEFINITELY going somewhere else.

There are so many factors, I wouldn't let all of those things you mention be the final judge. I'd be much more forgiving of a smoker because that can start young and be a life long addiction. I'd have definite questions though under each of those conditions.

Hey, even skinny chefs make good food.

I'm not sure how I would feel...

Are we talking bad teeth, or he just doesn't have a picture perfect veneer smile because he likes a more natural look?

Obese or just a bit overweight?

I think I would have to get to know the Dr, but I realize that it would be a pain to switch later. I wouldn't consider those things deal breakers. However, if every patient in the waiting room reflected the Dr's "faults" I think I would run like Hell!
