Anyone else lose power due to winds?

We lost power about 1.5 hours ago. Anyone else? In our case, a tree came down by a power line right near our house, but when I spoke to the JCP&L, they seemed to be busy... I imagine we're not the only ones?

We have our generators going...

Power loss momentarily early in the day and a couple of times in the afternoon. But we're only talking 5-10 seconds.

No power loss in Mansfield/towards Oxford. Some of the worst winds I've heard up here in a long time though.

Thanks Bessie but we are still in the dark. No worries, we have a generator so we have all we need - heat, water, fridge. Called the neighbors. Everyone is ok.

Going on 4.5 hours without power now! (I'm in Mansfield on the Independence border.) When I called JCP&L they were like... yeah, you're on the list... but it's a long list. Oh well, at least we have the generators. Not sure I like the idea of them going all night though...

What part of Hopatcong is that? So far (knock on wood) mine haven't even blinked. Maybe north of town hall? I live by Hopatcong High and the whole area seems OK so far.

My computer isn't working. I wonder if that is power related. :)

Roxbury and Jefferson had a few trees come down on homes and cars. They had a few high gusts of wind. Atlantic City had a gust over 70mph.

We lost power aroud 9:45 last night. the lines right in front of our house went down. It was quite frightening, we were watching a movie and then a loud crash like lightening and out goes the power. Looked outside to see the lines had snapped and the pole was sparking. Thank you JCP&L for getting our power back on so quickly!

Hubby was out this morning and saw a tree down on a house on Rockport and Snyder. Hope the occupants are ok. Be careful out there with the falling tree limbs.

Did anyone also feel that thunder that just passed about 10 minutes ago in Mansfield? Pretty scary, the house shook from it and poor Baci was terrified!

The thunder was pretty loud even inside Shoprite. Another round after that when I got home. Wind last night broke off 3 screws and pulled out the other holding in the flag pole. No Irish flag today then.

Lost power last night and woke up to a refrigerator full of spoiled food. This weather is absolutely ridiculous.

Tree down on wires on Danville Mountain Road has knocked out Danville Mountain Estates since 6 pm last night. As of 4 pm, no sign of JCP&L. Outgoing message on their phone says most of their customers will be out until Tuesday. Sigh...

Our power has been out over 24 hours now. When we called PSE&G this morning and asked for an estimate of repair time, they said (no kidding)... "maybe Tuesday."

Not complaining too much, we have 2 generators that are working fine... I'd just like to send the electric co. the bill for all the gas we're going through!

we lost power until 5 am sunday morning...when situations like this happen...complain very vocally to JCP&L...they should have done more preventative maintenance... on the road where i live i raised hell for years about the trees overgrowing the powerlines...guess what...JCP&L...sent out a crew to trim the trees...the tree trimmers told me that the powerlines had been overgrown and untrimmed for over thirty years...raise hell with JCP&L...e-mail them...push the issue...

Just got power restored - we've been out since my original Saturday post above around 5 pm. Cable/internet were out too until just recently. 2 days without power is no fun! I'd like Comcast to reimburse me for 2 days without service and JCP&L for the gas in the generator.... but for now I'm just happy to be doing the laundry and dishes that were starting to overflow!!!

Rebecka,

When did your power go back on?
