cleaning a jacuzzi tub....jets have mold!

Everytime I use my jacuzzi tub (not often as a busy mom), when the jets go on, black mold pieces come out and into the water. I've tried filling the tub up with hot , bleach water then running the jets to clean out.........but it didnt work that well. Any advise? Its grossing me out!

i looked up a few online i hope it helps i would have thought the bleach just like you did. If the problem is coming from it not being used often i can volunteer to use it weekly for you lol

Just guessing - try white vinegar. Can't go wrong!

When we had ours after each use I emptied it then filled again and added a bottle of white vinegar. Ran the jets then would empty the tub and run the jets for about 30 seconds to dry them.Never had mold. This was the instructions that came with the tub. Not sure if yours could be run without water.

Cold water and bleach for 30 minutes running the jets. But no matter what you do, growth will return since the pipes will never completely dry out and a clear slime will cover the pipes; but at least you can prevent the green/black mold.

Thanks for the tips! I going to try cleaning again today so I can take a bubble bath tonight......lock the door and let my husband/son fetch dinner for themselves!

Curly - sounds like a delightful plan ----- don't forget a glass of wine before you lock the door. LOL.
