There is another truck stuck under one lane RR bridge on Grand Ave. Traffic is being detoured around town. Anyone know the details?

Yes. There is a truck. It's stuck under the one lane bridge. Traffic is being detoured around town. ;)

Boy, if we're having whatever we consider a bad day, we can be be grateful we're not that truck driver!

Was it a Fed X truck. I saw one headed down Grand Ave past my house earlier. I think it was more like late morning.

It's gone now. They lubed it up with jello and got it out. :) It really is gone though.

Jello, a fed-ex driver and the 4th of July holiday weekend - that's hot!!

the good old one lane underpass on grand avenue...i once flagged down a shop-rite truck right by tannery field...the driver had no clue where he was going...the maps and directions he had did not show the low bridge...i also saw a postal truck rip the entire box off of a truck there...the driver blew through the underpass without stopping...just another day in hackettstown

A Mansfield rescue vehicle wrecked under that bridge one year. I'm waiting for that bridge to get so weak the train will wind up on the road!

There is a low bridge like that on Berkshire Valley Rd in Roxbury. I once saw a tractor trailer make it all the way through. It was a box trailer going in and a flat bed on the other side. LOL I was coming the other way. Thank God there was noone behind him, his trailer would have landed right on top of them.

Trailers just a bit too high have gotten stuck at the train trestle in Denville before. Nothing new.

I was going that way one day and saw a UHawl get the top ripped off. I felt so bad for the driver. Hope they got the optional insurance.

i think the best accident i saw at the low bridge on grand ave...was the day a dynamite truck got wedged...and i mean wedged under that bridge...they had to let all of the air out of the trucks tires in order to get it back out...i dont think we have seen the last of trucks hitting that bridge....

Something just dawned on me. Are there any warning signs on either side of that bridge? I don't remember seeing any and I go through there every day. Which means there aren't any or they need to be more prominent.

It is posted with the height of the bridge. We are just use to seeing it.

Maybe it needs to be way more prominent to avoid stuck trucks.

Well to refer back to the bridge in Roxbury, someone just installed height sensors and then a little closer to the bridge there are flashing lights. If your vehicle is high enough to trigger the height sensors, the flashing lights come one.

Seein, that sounds like it would be a great idea for this bridge.

I'll talk to some people and try to find out who was responsible for the Roxbury project and see what can be done about this one.
