Rude Truck Driver

I was turning onto Waterloo Road yesterday morning around 7 a.m. I sat there waiting to turn left with my indicator on and this red/maroon truck is coming down Waterloo Road - I thought he was going to go straight down on to Willow Grove, but no, right when he got to the corner he put his indicator light on and turned right - he did that on purpose, he saw me sitting there.

Then he had the nerve to blow me a kiss - I guess that is how he gets his kicks, being a rude "you know what". People like him are what is the problem anymore in this town, don't care about anybody but themselves.

Hope you are reading this you idiot.

Sue, unfortunately it's not just this town but many, many others too.

If it makes you feel any better you did the right thing anyway. Imagine if his directional was on and he was NOT turning. Now that would have been a really bad day for you!

Sue - I totally agree that it is rude and I have had my fair share of people doing exactly that (although not many blowing kisses... you must be special!) :-)

However, I also have had the person with the blinker on and almost having an accident because they were not turning!

I don't trust people with turn signals until they are actually slowing down to make the turn!

Maybe the guy was attracted to Sue and that was his way of letting her know. Give him a break.

Speaking of RUDE : I had a strange trip to work today. I was on Washington Street and some ahole in a landscaping truck RAN the stop sign.. Had I been literally 5 seconds earlier, i would have been hurt! Then I was behind another dummy who ran the red light by East Ave. Further along my trip, I saw a baby deer run across the road in front of me (i swear by those deer sensors!) Last but not least, I saw this big branch literally crack off of a tree. I am a little spooked.. TOO MANY CLOSE CALLS! I keep thinking of the Final Destination movie! Have a safe weekend everyone!! ;)

Why do you think he is from Hackettstown? Also is rudeness something new to this town or any town or country for that matter. I also think kiss was same as finger

Here's a way to get some resolution:

Get the name and/or phone number of the business from the side of the truck, IF you can. Then, call them and report it!! Just tell them that their representative is putting peoples' lives in jeopardy, or is just simply being an *sshole. Tell them, based on this behavior that you would NEVER use NOR recommend their business if this is example of the character of their employees.

If more people start doing this, eventually things will change because these drivers don't want to risk losing their jobs.

Aw, Denny, are you upset that you now have to sell your red/maroon truck? ;)

Maybe I'm in the minority, but big deal. If that's your biggest annoyance today, I would say you're pretty lucky.

MB - If it was just rude I'd say yes. But it sounded as though it could also have been dangerous by the way he was driving. I very much agree with calling the business if you have that info.

But I also agree with Clyde that no matter what kind of bad apples, that's no indication of the rest of the people in the area. It was bad, sounded dangerous, but no need to overreact either.

As we continue to accept discourteous behavior and rudeness it becomes more and more acceptable to not care about our neighbor. Our neighbor is the person behind us in the Shop Rite line, sits next to us on the train, shares a cubicle at work, and is our actual neighbor where we live. You get what you give if we take the attitude that giving the finger or other intentionally rude gestures is okay then pretty soon everyone is doing it and we live in a nation that spews hate everywhere we go.

Very well said Firefly! I try to always be the one that lets the other person in, it's the little things that make people happy.

I happen to be a very safe and couteous driver in my BMW. Sue , what do you drive. I want to blow you a kiss. If he was really that dangerous of a driver then you could have taken his plate down and wrote him a summons at the police station. Or like others said called the number on the truck and reported him unless of course it was his truck.

I drive a Camry if that matters. I didn't know until he turned the corner that he was turning as he did not indicate until he was about 2 feet from turning, so no chance to get his license plate.

I guess he thoguht he was being funny, but I didn't apreciate it. I am a courteous driver, stop for pedestricans, animals, etc. Just tired of all the rude people we have to enounter in our daily lives - those on cell phones all the time, texting all the time (while driving) - technology is great, but use it in the right places.

Just sick of rude people.

Reporting it to the cops reminds me of something that happend last night.

I was in Blairstown , in the parking lot of the tractor place on 94 waiting for the fireworks to start. Two state troopers pulled in and got out of their cars right next to me. They went on both sides of a car next to me that had been sitting there for a while, with a middle-aged lady and possibly her daughter.

They asked for her ID information and told her that someone called the police with her license plate number to tell them that she was swerving on the road and being careless to other drivers.

They talked to her for about 15 minutes before giving her warning (I think) and then left.
